When you are pregnant, they say you are doing everything for two. Instead of doing everything for two how about doing something with two? Pregnancy might be just the time to workout with a friend! Here are 4 benefits of working out with a friend while pregnant.

  • They can keep you motivated and accountable. You know you have to meet somebody, so you are more likely to exercise when you know somebody is waiting for you- it’s hard to let down a friend!

  • They help keep you safe. You know how we have discussed RPE (ratings of perceived exertion) and the talk test? Check out this past Bump on the Hump to learn more. Being able to carry on a conversation with your friend during the entire workout ensures that you are working on a level that is comfortable for you without overexerting yourself.

  • You will get more out of the workout. Partner workouts can help you feel challenged, increase the intensity- in a safe way- and possibly increase the duration of the workout.

  • It’s fun! You are busy and sometimes getting together with friends falls by the wayside. These workouts allow you to catch up on your pregnancies and your favorite celebrity gossip all while breaking a sweat.

Great news! We offer partner and small group training. These training sessions are a great way to see your friends (or make new ones)! Contact us for details.
