Every November the month gets its own makeover complete with a new name and a lot more hair. Movember, as it is now very well known, was started by the foundation of the same name, a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men’s health movement, raising $650 million and funding over 1,000 programs focusing on 4 different areas. These areas are prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. (1) By 2030, the foundation hopes to reduce he number of men dying prematurely by 25% (1)


There are many ways to get involved in Movember, and one of them is taking the Move challenge. The Move challenge isn’t anything specific- it’s whatever YOU make it. Maybe it’s a time to run that race you have been thinking about or trying karate. Maybe it’s checking out that park you have been with the great hiking trail or honing your hula hoop skills. The point is, you can do anything as long as you are moving!

Challenge yourself. Beat a personal best. No need to compete against anybody else!


Join a team. Start or become active with a group of coworkers or friends. Make some friendly competition!


Compete. Find a tournament in the area. Dodgeball anyone?


Track your progress. Whether you use an app, a journal or a whiteboard, it’s nice to see results in front of you. Save the results to compare to next year’s results.
